We are hiring an engineer for a US-based scalable payment solutions platform serving SMBs, entrepreneurs, and fintech startups. The platform processes payments across multiple channels and scenarios, combining security, scalability, and simplicity. This is a backend-first role within an AI-forward development culture, where the team actively uses AI coding tools in daily development.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full software development lifecycle: planning, design, implementation, code review, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and maintain robust backend services using PHP Laravel (primary focus).
- Build and support frontend interfaces using React.js or Vue.js (secondary focus).
- Work collaboratively within a cross-functional Scrum team alongside PMs, QA, and other engineers.
- Build high-quality, secure software focused on merchant management functionality.
- Participate actively in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-6+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
- English level B2–C2 for effective communication with the US team.
- Production-level expertise in PHP Laravel (or similar modern PHP framework).
- Solid working-level experience with React.js or Vue.js.
- Mandatory experience utilizing AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
- Strong understanding of cloud-native and SaaS architectures (scalability, resilience, multitenancy).
- Proven experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Memcached, and GraphQL.
- Experience with logging and monitoring systems (e.g., Logz.io or similar).
- Working Hours: 2-hour daily overlap with the US team (17:00–19:00 Kyiv time)
Nice to have
- Experience with payment processing or fintech systems.
- Experience with agentic AI tooling (autonomous coding agents).
- Background in developing merchant management or billing systems.
